Caring for the land is core business for us

Dear Landowner,

InterEarth is looking to help address the ever-increasing agricultural production challenges of marginal low rainfall farmland in Australia. We have a whole new production system that can transform agronomically and economically stressed farmland. We are seeking interact with existing landowners in two ways. First, purchase land from farmers who understand the increasing risks of low rainfall cereal production. And second, source biomass from farmers who have planted trees on previously cleared land but have not had the commercial return they may have wished from these trees.

Where we source biomass from planted trees on your property we will harvest the above ground biomass from these trees, dry that biomass and then store it in purpose-built chambers constructed on land unfit for any other purpose, such as land affected by salt. Deal is that we will sell carbon dioxide removal certificates into the international market and pay you for the biomass and our storage site. This can be a recurrent source of revenue for you. Your trees will regrow, and we will be able to harvest again every couple of years, that is if your trees coppice and most trees that have been planted by farmers do. Alternatively, if you want to remove your trees, and while we would prefer you didn’t, we will however work with you to find a way to maximise carbon capture (and payments for biomass to you). It is of course imperative that any trees we are harvest are no incumbered in any way, such as having carbon certificates of any form attached to them.

We are also interested in buying land outright to be able to produce our own biomass. We would also like farmers and their families stay, in the home you currently occupy if that works for you. The InterEarth production system is a form of farming, harvesting biomass for long-term storage of the contained carbon. We need locals with innovative farming know-how, and a can-do attitude. If you wish to stay on, you may like to work for InterEarth and help start a whole new industry with new careers for you and your family.

My personal guarantee to you is that InterEarth will be straightforward in all our dealings with you. If your land fits our needs and you want to sell, we will negotiate a fair market price for your land. If want to sell us biomass from trees planted on your property, we will work with you to make that worthwhile as well.
