For farmers

Caring for the land is core business for us

And so is caring about the people connected with the land. We want to bring a new business to marginal low rainfall farmland in Australia in an inclusive and respectful way. See following an open letter from our CEO.

An open letter from our CEO to landowners in the eastern WA wheatbelt

Dear Landowner,

InterEarth is here to help address the ever increasing agricultural production challenges of marginal low rainfall farmland in Australia.  We have a whole new production system that can transform agronomically and economically stressed farmland. We are seeking to purchase land from farmers who understand the increasing risks of low rainfall cereal production.

We are interested in buying land outright or, if you are excited about our business, doing a land for equity swap at a premium land price, or a combination of the two. We need your paddocks for biomass production, but we do not require you to leave your family home if you want to stay. We will work with you to make this a smooth transition. The InterEarth production system is a form of farming; harvesting biomass for subterranean burial. We need locals with innovative farming know-how, and a can-do attitude. If you wish to stay on, you may like to work for InterEarth and help start a whole new industry with new careers for you and your family.

My personal guarantee to you is that InterEarth will be straightforward in all our dealings with you. If your land fits our needs, we will negotiate a fair market price for your land. We offer you  the option to stay local and the possibility to work for InterEarth. Or we offer you the chance to retire with dignity, in the knowledge that your land will be well cared for.

We are in this business  for the very long haul, but we are at the very beginning of the journey.  If you do business with InterEarth,  we want you to be satisfied that we have delivered on our promises. We would be delighted if you were to help with the promotion of InterEarth to other farmers and stakeholders. Ideally your decision to team up with us (in whatever way works for you) should be  the best business decision you and your family has ever made.

If you would like to learn more about any aspect of InterEarth please send me your details via the button below and I will give you a call or come to visit you personally.

Also let us know if you would like to talk to Glenn Solomon, a fellow farmer near Perenjori with whom we are currently working. Glenn knows us quite well and we can arrange a one-on-one chat that fits with both your schedules.

My family have been farming in the northern wheatbelt for many generations. I worked on the farm, and later in the agricultural services and resources industry. I love the wheatbelt and have a genuine desire to see our small country towns reinvigorated through agronomic and economic diversification. I know the InterEarth system is a real, sustainable and technically viable option to help achieve this goal.

I look forward to discussing InterEarth with you and exploring opportunities for us to work together.

Yours sincerely,

Howard Carr
CEO

Why partner with us

The benefits of InterEarth for farmers

A fair deal

InterEarth will be straightforward in all its dealing including those with farmers. We will agree to a fair price for land that meets our requirements. The primary contact for farmers with InterEarth will be directly with our CEO.

Land for equity option

Farmers who see InterEarth as an exciting opportunity can become investors via a land for equity swap. We will do this at a premium to the price we agree for the straight purchase of land. We are also open to this swap covering all or part of our land purchase.

We want farmers to stay around

We want people to stay in the area. Farmers will have the option to stay in their homes on any property we buy. It would be even better if farmers also join our team. InterEarth will provide a wide range of employment and career opportunities for locals.

Positive for your local community

InterEarth will create opportunities that will be good for local businesses and towns. We will not reduce local employment and make it even harder for local communities that have been suffering long term population decline. We are going to need more people on the ground, all year round.

Good for the grain industry

InterEarth will be another farming business in the area. What we do will have positive spillovers for grain production primarily by helping to limit the extension of secondary salination but also by supporting local businesses and communities.

Impact

InterEarth land might become important in humanity’s eventual success in addressing climate change. Farmers can be assured that their land will be playing a role in tackling our greatest ever challenge. At the very least we will be trying our best to do so.
